No-one understands the stresses that being a parent brings better than another parent.  That is why Home-Start Guernsey is such a valuable part of the local community and has now been running in Guernsey for seven years.

Home-Start recruits parents as volunteers who visit families experiencing stressful times. The volunteers work with families by simply encouraging parent’s strengths and emotional well-being for the benefit of their children.

Home-Start offers a unique blend of support and friendship achieved by home visiting. Support can be practical or emotional, but is always free, confidential and non-judgmental.

The fact that a number of families refer themselves and that parents who have been supported by Home-Start sometimes go on to be volunteers themselves, speaks for itself.

Home-Start Guernsey achieved 100% in its recent Quality Assurance review.

Home-Start also runs 2 drop-in groups:

Dragonflies from 9.30 to 12.30 am every Tuesday morning at Roseville Community Centre. Click here to see the leaflet.

Dragonflies 2 from 9.30 to 11.30 am every Thursday morning at Les Camps Methodist Church.

Home-Start Guernsey is based at the Roseville Community Centre where    co-ordinators Ayesha and Hayley, recruit and train volunteers and match them with families who are supported by weekly home visits.
